Our class had an awesome time creating Powtoons to summarize the book, James and the Giant Peach. Each classmate was given two chapters to reread and summarize. Then, students were paired up and created a Powtoon to animate their assigned chapters. Be sure to turn your volume up to watch because some Powtoons even have music! We learned that there are two categories of questions. There are “thin” and “thick” questions. For review, a “thin” question has an easy answer. Thin questions ask “when”, “where”, “who”, or “how many”. A “thick” question makes the reader think and search in their brain. Thick questions start with “Why do you think…?”, “What if…?”, “How would you feel if…?”, or “What might…?” |
